While over 40% of football fans are women, they are rarely engaged with during the major football tournaments, and the biggest being the World Cup. So while that was happening in Qatar, we were developing an experience that brings a more balanced representation to the field of play. We developed Space Cup, a Roblox game hosted on the Samsung Space Tycoon world.
We recruited 8 leading gaming streamers from the region, split between women and men, and each had a team of players to compete in the multiple football inspired levels on Space Cup. In a live streamed knockout tournament, teams progressed to the semi-finals and then finals on different days, and was finally won by Team KSA, led by a streamer Pikaloli, the woman of the match.
